Abstract:
In recent years, there has been a notable surge in efforts to enrich cultural experiences through the development of electronic maps. This research aims to delve deeply into the essential components needed for the creation of an electronic cultural map specifically focused on the Story Theme Park service located in Andong, Korea. Within the narrative materials associated with the park, various locations exhibit unique attributes tied to distinct spots, expansive areas, and designated routes that visitors can explore. Moreover, this mapping initiative will also consider the intricate relationships between pertinent factors such as time periods, significant events, and key characters that are integral to the stories represented in the park. To achieve a comprehensive electronic map that encompasses all these elements, it is crucial to clearly define the linkage data associated with each characteristic. This data must be meticulously integrated into the metadata to allow for a detailed breakdown of the spatial dimensions related to the cultural narratives. In addition, the electronic cultural map will be enhanced by establishing connections to external databases. This integration will facilitate user access to a wealth of information, allowing visitors to deepen their understanding of the cultural narratives and the context surrounding the Story Theme Park. Recognizing culture as a vital distinguishing characteristic for nations and local governments, this initiative holds the potential to provide a marked competitive advantage within the cultural industry. By effectively showcasing the unique cultural traits of the region through the electronic cultural map, we can present diverse resources and materials that engage visitors and enhance their cultural experience. Ultimately, this approach aims not just to attract tourists but also to foster a greater appreciation for the local culture and heritage.
