Abstract:
In a distributed storage system, the storage service provider (SSP) is a crucial entity tasked with efficiently receiving, processing, and responding to a wide array of requests from clients in need of reliable storage solutions. In this paper, we introduce a comprehensive and innovative structure for the SSP that takes full advantage of the capabilities offered by virtualization technologies and cloud computing. Our approach involves utilizing a dedicated, isolated virtual machine (VM) specifically designed to continuously monitor and assess the operational state of the main SSP virtual machine. This monitoring ensures that any anomalies or performance issues are detected promptly, allowing for swift remediation. Furthermore, the administration of the SSP is streamlined through a unified management interface that enables real-time visibility into the system's status and performance metrics. This interface not only simplifies the process of inspecting the storage service provider but also enhances the administrator's ability to make informed decisions swiftly. As a result, this structured approach significantly boosts the overall reliability and security of the storage services while improving operational efficiency, ultimately leading to greater client satisfaction and trust in the system’s capabilities.
