Abstract:

In this paper, we conduct an in-depth analysis of user behaviors, with the objective of elucidating the key characteristics and underlying rules that define the interactions and activities of a collective group of users. Our examination extends across several critical dimensions, including user requirements—such as the specific needs and preferences that influence how users engage with the system—as well as fluctuations in user traffic. These fluctuations can occur in both spatial dimensions, illustrating how user engagement varies across different locations, and temporal dimensions, demonstrating how user activity changes over time. Furthermore, we investigate user mobility, which examines how users move and interact within the network environment, affecting overall behavior and traffic patterns. By comprehensively analyzing these diverse traffic characteristics, we aim to identify discernible patterns and behaviors exhibited by network users or subscribers. Our primary focus is on understanding user behavior through the lens of group dynamics rather than isolating individual user actions. This methodological approach is particularly beneficial, as it allows us to uncover collective behaviors and trends that are often more representative of the user base as a whole. Recognizing these trends is essential for informing and guiding effective network design, optimization, and configuration efforts. Moreover, by exploring the collective behavior of groups, we can better tailor network solutions to meet shared user needs, which enhances the overall user experience and boosts network efficiency. Ultimately, our research seeks to provide valuable insights that can drive advancements in network strategies, making them not only more responsive but also more aligned with the real-world behaviors of users in various contexts.
