Abstract:
As information technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, adolescents are increasingly utilizing the internet and engaging with their peers through various social networking sites (SNS). While this newfound connectivity offers numerous benefits, it also exposes young users to significant risks, including a range of cyber crimes such as identity theft, cyberbullying, and online scams. To mitigate these risks and safeguard individuals from potential information security threats, it is crucial to prioritize information security education for young people. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive approach to information security education that combines elements of entertainment and learning—what we refer to as "edutainment." This strategy involves creating engaging and interactive scenarios designed to simulate real-world information security incidents. By immersing adolescents in these realistic situations, our aim is to enhance their understanding of information security principles and foster a greater awareness of the potential dangers they may encounter online. Through this edutainment approach, we hope to equip young individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly.
