Abstract:

Analyzing the characteristics of night buses, it shows a pattern of passengers moving to homes from commercial areas and business areas. In the case of subways, during peak hours when passenger demand is concentrated, the express lines operate to increase efficiency. In view of the characteristics of the night buses, night buses could also be more efficient if they set up an express line. In this study, we are going to calculate the efficiency of express lines by analyzing the data of night buses at the Seoul Open Data Plaza. When calculating the express lines, bus stops for night bus routes are selected as express stops so that they carry passengers more easily than regular ones. In addition, the weights of the first half and the second half of the route were weighted differently, and the importance of the route was ranked in order to calculate the efficiency of the express line. Based on the results of this study, if the express line is applied for the night bus, it is expected to improve not only the operational efficiency but also the satisfaction of the late-night bus passengers than the existing regular line.
