Abstract:

A comprehensive single sign-on scheme is proposed to facilitate seamless user authentication and the control of remote devices using a mobile terminal within a home network. This system operates on the OSGi (Open Service Gateway Initiative) service platform, which is underpinned by the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML). The single sign-on profile has been meticulously designed to address and navigate the constraints posed by the limited computing power and memory capacity of typical mobile terminals. By effectively streamlining the authentication process, users can access multiple services and devices without having to log in repeatedly, thus enhancing the overall user experience. Furthermore, automated user authentication is integrated to provide a robust mechanism for managing remote multimedia devices connected to the home network. This automated control ensures that users can easily interact with their devices—such as smart TVs, speakers, and other home entertainment systems—without facing hurdles related to security or access limitations. This solution not only increases convenience but also maintains a strong focus on security and efficiency within the home network environment.
