Abstract:

Identifying attacks on networks is an arduous task. IOT (Internet of Things) based Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) are networks in which mobiles organize themselves in dynamic topology deprived of any centralized system. MANETS can be treated as a category of Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN). The rate of attacks any network faces just doubles itself with a distributed environment. The proposed approach in this paper utilizes Block Chain approach as a force for prevention of DDOS attack (Distributed Denial of Service). The proposed methodology will be a boom for various businesses and industries for prevention and mitigation of DDOS attack. Since block-chain is a decentralized system having multiple nodes it will ensure that attacks are not concentrated con a single centralized source. An attacker will have to gain access to various multiple nodes simultaneously making it difficult, expensive and time-consuming to implement an attack. The blockchain methodology will create decentralized network of severs that will send bandwidth in a flash to the servers that are facing attacks. DDOS attacked server will absorb excess traffic by utilizing additional bandwidth. The approach posits a block chain algorithm for securely sharing IOT based datasets to ensure integrity of shared datasets across infra-structure less WMN.
