Abstract:

Traffic violation, became a major problem in metropolitan cities, resulting in accidents and heavy traffic jam for many hours. To overcome these problems with motorists who don’t follow traffic rules like signal jumping, triple riding etc., we came up with a device which must be internally integrated with ignition key of vehicle. Generally, this device works, by being connected with the data base of RTA, which automatically receives the challan from RTA and further seizes the vehicle after a restricted number of Challan’s received. The communication between the server and the device is done by GSM module interfaced with Arduino. The device is capable of sending/receiving data and also SMS over GPRS. USART communication is used by GSM module to communicate with the microcontroller. The ignition key of the vehicle is connected to the microcontroller such that when the data is received it makes the ignition disabled by high or low switching logic. This device is to be proposed to make majority of people follow traffic rules, so that road safety can be improved and hence becomes easier for the police to collect imposed fines on time without fail.
