Abstract:

This paper proposes a new frequency control scheme for a wind and diesel generator-based isolated grid, that neither storage equipment like battery, flywheel, pump storage nor controllable loads are installed. The idea of this proposal is based on the coordination between wind farm and diesel generator to maximize wind energy and minimize amount of fuel consumed by the diesel generator. This investigation is tested under Matlab/Simmulink environment. Simulation results are analyzed and compared to the conventional one.
