Abstract:

The need for modeling football results has become so popular in the last few years and many different models have been proposed with the aim of estimating the factors that determines the winner and the losers in a football match. Predicting the result of a football match has been the interest of many football fans all over the world. This paper proposes a Neurofuzzy logic model for predicting the result of a football match. The proposed model has two phases; the first phase uses a neural network model to generate the major factors that affect team performance. The second phase’s uses fuzzy logic model to predict the result of a football match. The proposed system was implemented using MatLab 2008. The model considered different factors that affects for both the host team and the guest in order to predict the winner and the loser of each football match. From the result obtained, it can be seen that Neurofuzzy logic technique is a good tool for predicting the result of a football match.
