Abstract:

The purpose of study was to assess the heavy metals (Ni, Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd and Cr) pollution in dumpsite soil. The results indicated that the soil was moderately polluted by Pb, Cu and Cd ( Igeo= 2.63, 2.92 and 2.74) respectively. Potential ecological risk index results indicated that Cd is at very high potential ecological risk and should be of great concern to the inhabitant and government agencies.
